While working on film pieces the process of dividing the film into tiny portions or shreds of its former self is significant to the labor intensive process that a projectionist would experience while handling film. My physical exertion of tedious cutting became a calming repetition. It is through the destruction of film as a material that I am able to create an importance and acceptance to something that has become obsolete otherwise.
